With seasoned experience in management and leadership, Raquel shares her vast knowledge in tourism and passion for travel and hospitality as a substitute instructor at the Manitoba Institute of Trades & Technology for the Hospitality Management Program.

She serves as a board director for the Sunova Credit Union, is vice-chair of the Air Cadet League of Manitoba, and is vice-chair of the National Effective Speaking Program for the Air Cadet League of Canada. Raquel volunteers with the Manitoba Aviation Council, the Experimental Aircraft Association (Manitoba Chapter) and the Manitoba 99’s.

During her career, Raquel received several industry awards, including:

• Manitoba Tourism Award of Distinction (2017)

• Manitoba Woman Entrepreneur of the Year (Finalist, 2006)

• Manitoba Tourism Award, Marketing Category (2000)

Raquel has developed and implemented several cooperative marketing initiatives in Manitoba’s Whiteshell Provincial Park.
