Dale Crouch

Dale Crouch

Dale Crouch was born, the eldest of two sons of an RCAF fighter pilot, at RCAF Station Marville, France (1 Wing). Dale was raised in a military family and served as an air cadet at 800 Black Forest Squadron in Lahr Germany from 1972-73.

After studying at Red River Community College (Winnipeg) and the University of Manitoba, and working as a computer programmer in Winnipeg, he and his wife Donna moved to Yellowknife, Northwest Territories to take a position with the Government of the NWT. He was employed as a computer programmer, systems analyst and internal consultant.

In 1986 Dale opened and operated his own computer company, Tamarack Computers Ltd. which by 2016 had grown to employ thirteen additional employees. Over his business career, Dale owned and operated several companies including real estate development (in BC & the NWT), computer sales/consulting and programming (in NWT & Nunavut) and a small chain of video rental stores (based on Vancouver Island). Always active in the community, Dale has been involved with several service and community and youth groups. Dale first joined the Scout program with his sons. Then later, became involved with Air Cadets with his daughter.

Dale joined as a parent volunteer and then an officer with 825 Yellowknife Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron. Dale was active for 15 years with the squadron and served as Squadron Commanding Officer and then with the Regional Cadet Support Unit (North) as Regional Branch Advisor and at several summer camps in Whitehorse Yukon and in the biathlon/marksmanship programs.

Dale began working with the Air Cadet League in 2007, rebuilding the leagues presence in the three northern territories, establishing the PTACC constitution in 2007, recruiting regional directors, serving as Territorial Chair for two terms and as Executive Director for eight terms.

In 2017, Dale retired from his computer company and moved to Winkler Manitoba. Dale now serves with the Manitoba Provincial Committee of the Air Cadet League as Squadron Liaison, Senior Squadron Liaison, Webmaster and Chair. Dale and Donna have three children: Robert, Carolyn and James and four grandchildren.
