The Air Cadet League of Canada (Manitoba), also known as the Manitoba Provincial Committee, works in partnership with the Canadian Armed Forces to support the air cadet program. We are a volunteer organization which:

• provides assistance and financial oversight of squadron sponsoring committees;

• provides financial support to the Air Cadet gliding fam team for the operation of the gliders and towplanes in the spring and fall, which provide cadets with their first air experiences;

• raises funds in support of several scholarships. The main source is the annual Props and Hops beer tasting event at the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada. Charitable donations are also a major source of funds;

• supports optional cadet activities such as effective speaking training and the provincial effective speaking competition;

• provides ancillary support by screening league and SSC volunteers, maintaining an archives and a display at the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada, developing a strategic plan and by-law amendments, acting as a recipient of charitable donations to squadrons which don’t have CRA charity numbers, and liaising with the national Air Cadet League and other provincial leagues, as well as the Navy League and Army Cadet League.

The Royal Canadian Air Cadets is a national program, funded primarily by the Canadian Armed Forces, that has an eighty year history of developing  in youth the attributes of leadership, citizenship and physical fitness, and stimulates an interest in aeronautics. Cadets are not part of the military. The program has trained over one million Air Cadets since 1941.
